The Centre

The goal of the Research Centre is to undertake research and organise training sessions on the sites and expressions of power such as those represented at Versailles and in other European courts during the 17th and 18th centuries.

The mission of the Scientific Committee of the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles is to assist the governing board in defining the general scientific directions to be taken by the group.
The peer review committee of the Research Centre is made up of specialists in the themes and periods studied by the Centre.
The permanent team at the Research Centre consists of fourteen people. For its research programmes, and as required, the Centre strengthens its teams by contractually engaging researchers.
