Research

External researchers

The Centre de recherche du château de Versailles (CRCV) is dedicated to fostering and supporting scientific research on the places and expressions of power as represented at Versailles and across Europe, primarily in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Within this context, it regularly welcomes visiting researchers – researchers who are not part of its permanent staff – providing them with a dedicated workspace and access to research facilities in the very heart of Versailles.

This arrangement aims to support original research projects, encourage the use of the archives and scientific resources available on site, and foster exchange between the CRCV team and the researchers involved in its collective programmes. The visitors enjoy an office at the CRCV, privileged access to specialised documentation and digital resources, and a stimulating scientific environment.

Hosting is granted for a fixed period (usually one year, renewable depending on the project) by decision of the CRCV‘s director following review of an application. This status does not entail any statutory or contractual link with the G.I.P., but it recognises the researcher as a visiting member of the CRCV‘s scientific community.
