Masters seminar “Versailles and the 19^th century” by the université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (CHCSC Laboratory)

In order to add to the enhancement of the heritage wealth and scientific resources of the territory where the université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) is located, this seminar was designed with the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles to give students of the Research Masters in History the opportunity to tackle a complex subject and varied practices over time, sparking historiographical debates and interdisciplinary research.

Students will be invited to explore a place of art, culture and power whose history is particularly rich in the 19^th century, and specialists of this period will discover the wealth and variety of the Research Centre’s collections through which they will be able to address a wide variety of subjects for their research dissertation.

This Master’s seminar, coordinated by Anne-Claude Ambroise-Rendu (Professor of Contemporary History, CHCSC Laboratory) as part of the Master’s degree Research in cultural and social history, is organised in collaboration with the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles Bastien Coulon, Researcher Officer at the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles.

• 1er octobre 2024 : « Les sources des archives conservées au château de Versailles » conférence par Karine McGrath, cheffe du service des archives ; « le château de la Révolution à aujourd’hui » conférence par Bastien Coulon, chargé de recherche au CRCV.
• 12 novembre 2024 : « Les Galeries historiques de Versailles », visite par Bastien Coulon, chargé de recherche au CRCV.
• 17 décembre 2024 : « Le parlement à Versailles » conférence puis visite par Raphaël Masson, conservateur en chef du patrimoine au musée national de Versailles et de Trianon.

Second semestre

• 21 janvier 2025 : « La salle du serment du jeu de Paume : lieu de mémoire de la Révolution » conférence puis visite par Bastien Coulon, chargé de recherche au CRCV.
• 11 février 2025 : « Les visiteurs de Versailles » conférence de Flavie Leroux, chargée de recherche au CRCV.
• 18 mars 2025 : « Le château de Versailles pendant les guerres » conférence par Claire Bonnotte-Khélil, collaboratrice scientifique au musée national de Versailles et de Trianon.
