The mission of the Scientific Committee of the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles is to assist the governing board in defining the general scientific directions to be taken by the group. It is consulted and gives its opinion on the general programme of the group’s activities, examines the dossiers submitted for research projects presented directly by the researchers or teams of researchers, and assesses them from a scientific point of view.
The scientific committee consists of ex-officio members and qualified persons chosen for their competence in the areas of the group’s activities, and with at least a third coming from abroad.
It meets when convened by its president as often as required by its mission, and at least once a year in a plenary session.
