Coming to the Centre
The Research Centre team advises and assists researchers as needed, and facilitates access to the following resources and personnel:
- a specialist library of exhibition catalogues relating to life at court,
- a directory of French and foreign researchers and institutions, working on subjects in the Centre’s area of study,
- the iconographic collections of the Musée de l’Histoire de France: around 30,000 paintings, drawings and engravings of portraits and historical scenes,
- collections of documents, archives, printed matter, ancient manuscripts and microfilms,
- the teams of curators, architects, artistic craftsmen, gardeners and fountaineers at the Palace of Versailles.
The Centre also has the advantage of being close to the following institutions:
- the Archives départementales des Yvelines,
- the Bibliothèque municipale de Versailles, with its wealth of old collections,
- the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles,
- the École Nationale Supérieure du Paysage de Versailles,
- the Académie du spectacle équestre,
- the company Château de Versailles Spectacles.
