The series “Aulica. L’Univers de la Cour”, co-published with the Presses universitaires de Rennes (PUR), is co-directed by Boris Bove, Philippe Le Doze, Mathieu da Vinha and Cédric Michon.
This series brings together works arising from studies carried out by the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles as part of its research programmes and partnerships. The collection also includes external works by young or established researchers on all aspects of the court at Versailles and European courts, from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment, using a critical, multi-disciplinary and comparative approach towards their history – institutions, economy, society, rituals, political issues, civilisation, art and culture.
All the titles published have been subject to a peer review process. This applies to collective works, research monographs, theses, translations, etc.
Pre-2013, three initial titles were jointly published with Éditions de la Maison des sciences de l’homme in Paris within the “Aulica” Collection (the collection can be accessed on the MSH website).
