The Centre de recherche du château de Versailles is a member of the research network The Court Studies Forum (CSF).
The Court Studies Forum, an association of several European research institutions involved in the study of courts, was formed in London on 6 July 2007. The executive committee includes representatives of the following institutions: The Society for Court Studies and a representative of the North American Committee; English Heritage; the “État, Société et Religion, Moyen Âge - Temps modernes” laboratory at the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines; the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles; the Centro Studi Europa delle Corti; the university institute La Corte en Europa of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and the University of Antwerp.
The purpose of this group is not only to organise symposia but also to ensure a permanent monitoring of information between the various institutions.
As part of its involvement in the research network, the Research Centre took part in the annual seminar of the Centro Studi “Europa delle Corti”. This seminar was held in Madrid from 13 to 16 December 2010: Politics and Religion in European Courts (16th-18th centuries)
As part of its involvement in the research network, the Research Centre took part in the annual seminar of the Centro Studi “Europa delle Corti”. This seminar was held in Turin at the Royal Palace of Venaria on 4 and 5 December 2009: At the Court Table.
This seminar focused on the development of table culture in the great European courts: etiquette, incidental entertainment, dishes, the table and practices at table were addressed in the broadest sense.
